Hi all! I'm Dramatica of Dramatica's Downloads, which may go poof any moment cos who knows what weebly is doing with itself Anyhoo, I am a member of Terraluna, I used to be a member of Simblesse Oblige (RIP) and also a hundred years ago I belonged to The Coconut Hut. (I think my username was VideoNasty there lol) Outside of Sim things I like to read, draw, listen to music, watch entirely too much tv, play games (video & board), and crochet.

Welcome to the site, Dramatica! Great to see you!🤗💗
Have you ever thought about moving your site to Tumblr? The site's very easy to use and is more stable than Weebly. There's also a fairly large community of Sims 1 players there, so more people might see your creations. Just food for thought.

I have actually. My plan is to put all the old stuff on there just as links (reposting all the pictures would just be too much trouble lol) and then posting anything new I make on the weebly site and tumblr, that way I have a back up. But I have yet to actually set anything up.

I don't like tumblr sites because it can often be difficult to find things later on them.

The Archive feature on Tumblr really helps with this. Now, it *will* throw up a login wall when you try to click on posts without being logged in, but right-clicking and selecting "open link in new tab" gets around that.

I have a tumblr account (that I don't really use much anymore). I guess it depends how good a given creator tagged posts... but also sometimes you will have to brows pages and pages of things tagged "clothes" to find what you want. Maybe sims 2 simmers are just more sloppy lol.

Sloppy tagging really drives me up the wall!😣 So many people will just throw the same set of tags into every post, regardless of whether or not it's accurate. I'm guessing they think Tumblr's algorithm will notice their posts more?
Or, more alarmingly, some of these could also be bot accounts that are reblogging people's posts and are programmed to throw the same group of tags into everything they reblog. Tumblr really needs to clean up their bot problem.😒

I don't think my situations are bots, since I'm following links posted (and vetted?) by humans. Also I've run into a lot of people who flounce and delete their tumblr ("simblr") then remake and sometimes repost, sometimes don't. Then sometimes you even do find the post and the link is broken...
I guess it's like any other sites or blog platform. My gripes are less with tumblr and more with the fact a lot of creators just lollop-post their content there. I'd be just as frustrated with any other less organized it. It's up to the maintainer to... maintain it.
(Speaking of my own site, I'm working on tagged groups though as of now every mod is in alphabetical order. I made it when I was on what I thought was an indefinite haitus to host my old stuff... then I started creating again.)

Yeah, there's far too many people out there who either don't think about these things or just don't care. I know that RL happens and that forces some people to have to go on hiatus, but people should have some kind of plan for what happens to their downloads. Far too many Sims things have vanished over the years because the creator lost interest and never thought to save their files.

I do have a tumblr, I just never thought to use it for Sim things. Is there a limit to how many other urls you can have?? Cos I have several already (that I rarely use ^^; ) I used to be really active on there around 2011/12 but have dropped off considerably in recent years. I think it changed for the worse when Yahoo acquired it.

I don't think there's a limit to secondary URLs on tumblr. Or, it's so high I've never heard of anyone hitting it. I used to be very active on there, but now I just lurk since there's people still posting. I don't think Yahoo was the issue, exactly. I think people just moved on.
But, hey, I guess it was noble of them to try and make tumblr the new pdf.

I own two blogs on Tumblr, myself! *Points to signature* So, there's no limit.
Tumblr is actually owned by Automattic nowadays, the same company that owns WordPress. Might not be a popular opinion, but I actually think the site's better nowadays than it was during its "peak" in the mid 2010s. The infamous "porn ban" of 2018 pushed off a ton of toxic users, and the site became quieter, but friendlier as a result. The recent surge in porn bots is mostly a result of Twitter refugees suddenly discovering the site.
Tumblr isn't perfect, but I'd still take it over any other social media site. It's a site that's purely about content and not advertising yourself like Facebook/Instagram/Twitter. It's also not owned by a shady and awful person, either.

I will say the porn ban has done little to ban porn on tumblr. The only thing it did was restrict the viewing of female-presenting nipples. A phrase so over-workshopped it's still funny to me. Maybe my humor just hasn't changed since 2018. I have, uh... (check, counts) 22 urls on tumblr currently. I don't really post often, but this is my personal one. It may not be appropriate for work or all ages due to the content covered (there should be no actual porn, just some swears and if you go back far enough heavy topics) www.tumblr.com/blog/4hourfearlessleader
