Hi!
I can move this if we need to but thought it was important to share this and damondamore suggested here in the meantime.
Internet Archive is in a lawsuit. It's focused on books but it might be a good idea to back up any Sims 1 content on there that isn't currently on Sims Fileshare. It looks like if things don't go well, we may have a massive surge of lost media again, including things that had been currently found. I found out about this because I also frequent lost media forums and they are trying to back up lost media that had been placed there to be preserved.

I've made this thread an announcement, as I think everyone needs to know about this.
The Internet Archive doesn't just have Sims stuff, books, videos, and stuff like that... it is also the Wayback Machine! If this site ends up getting taken down due to this lawsuit, over two decades of internet history and information will be wiped out in one fell swoop.
We can't let this happen. The Internet Archive is a valuable and necessary resource. It saddens me how much the old free web is slowly getting lost to walled gardens that put more value in collecting your money than sharing information.

Just wanted to give an update with what's going on. I'm not sure if I should call it an "update" but more like here is a video explaining it from a lost media standpoint: www.youtube.com/watch?v=bp2aowF0jUwI haven't had a chance to watch this particular video myself yet but I have watched this channel for summaries on lost media and tend to like this channel since it doesn't seem to over sensationalize things (one of the biggest pet peeves of mine is many lost media channels will try to make a piece of lost media creepy or over the top). I will keep my eyes peeled on this topic and try to give updates or what is being said about it.

Thanks for the video, Simmingsims55. I think this comment someone posted underneath summed it up very well:
Copyright laws have been abused to the point of self-destruction.
Copyright laws have done nothing but stand in the way of the preservation of art and culture. They've caused too much media to become lost media for no good reason.
