Hi, my name is Eduardo, I’m from Spain, I’m 34 years old and I used to play The Sims in 2000’s. I bought the original game in 2000 and then, over the years, all the expansions. I started to play again last year and I must say that I still love it as much as I did 20 years ago, but also I recognize that I feel very lonely, I mean, there’s so few sites about the game that are active or updating and neither there’s people or a community I can reach to talk or to be in contact from time to time at least, so I can feel I’m not the only person playing Sims 1 in the world. Really, this is like a lonely feeling and it's also weird because I think that the the Sims 1 is a game that almost looks like cartoons so it was okay playing this game when I was 12, but now? Now I can do better homes and better lots, so who cares about the age We are talking about a game from 2000 so probably the tiny community around the game is my age too, right? I've never played any other Sims game, not Sims 2, neither Sims 4...well I played Sims 4 just the other day, now that is for free I gave it a try, like 30 minutes? I almost didn't understand a thing I'm happy there's still some people loving the Sims 1 as much as I do So hi!!!

Hello Eduardo and welcome!
It does feel lonely sometimes with sims 1, but seeing the drama around the later games... well, you know, maybe this isn't so bad.

Welcome to the board, Eduardo!💗🌻 Hope you enjoy your stay here.
I'm fully with Damon in regards to Sims 1 vs the later games. Our community may be small, but there's less drama, and that's not a bad thing at all. I hate drama.😊

Is there drama around the later games? I did't know that, as I've said I only gave it a try to Sims 4 just the other day and it's too confusing for me haha. My heart is always with Sims 1, so I continue playing them. Thank you all for the welcome

Hello and welcome! It's always good to see more Sims 1 fans! I keep coming back to Sims 1 and 2 because they feel more complete to me. TS1 was big before the microtransaction trend and 2 only fell into that trap toward the end. Having to constantly shell out money for everything the way 4 is set up would drive me crazy.

By shell out money do you mean all the accesories packs, expansions, etc? I had a look when downloading the Sims 4, the base game, and I thought: wow, if I buy some packs and expansions which equally the content of my Sims 1 I have to spend like 150€?? The base game don't get my attention so...I can't move on from Sims 1 anyway haha And I agree, it's always good to see more Sims 1 fans

Exactly! The Sims 4 base game so lacking. I would find it annoying to have to pay extra for things that used to be included in the base game. Also, the prices of the packs and kits are crazy. Why pay more for sim fun when my Complete Collection and all the wonderful creators have everything I need?

To be fair, you can still buy three bushes in the sims 3 for $4.05, so at least compared to that I would say sims 4 packs are better value for money.
I also don't so much mind having a bunch of small packs, I can just not buy ones I'm not interested in.
Unfortunately, the core gameplay is so not really there that no amount of add-ons can save it.
