I just found out about this:
Looks like Imgur will be clearing out tons of images and going behind a login wall. Not good.👎
If you've shared any photos via Imgur here or on another site, please save them and upload them somewhere else! I highly recommend Postimages as an alternative. It's very simple, and it doesn't require an account.
Please spread the word!

It's really annoying and actually contrary to what the original creator designed it for... but then again he sold it sometime 2021 I think so thereyago.

That's really unfortunate. I really hope PostImages doesn't go down the same route.

At this point, it wouldn't surprise me if Imgur eventually ends up going the paywall route like PhotoSuckIt. Kicking off the unregistered users and deleting photos seems to be the first step towards that.🙄🤦♀️ That's really unfortunate. I really hope PostImages doesn't go down the same route. I really hope not, either. It's easily the best image-hosting service I've used. Clean, uncluttered site with no registration or hassle needed. Exactly how the web should be.

Imgur wants to sell ADs and the personal data of the people who are registered. That's how they make their money. It is expensive to run an image hosting site like that.

And, these sites love to blame adblockers for their revenue being down.🙄 However, they forget why adblockers came into existence in the first place -- most people hate pop-up windows, autoplay videos, and malware. As long as advertising continues to employ those strategies, adblockers will continue to exist.

AD blockers became a standard because (as you said) malware. Also, flash-based ADs slowing down browsing. For years I kept ad-blockers off to support sites, until they started hosting ADs that slowed down the browser and weren't from reputable services.
I don't mind looking at ADs, I mind having my machine and information compromised. I mind not being able to browse your site because the AD is slowing down the page. No I will not hit Britney Spears with a sausage.

No I will not hit Britney Spears with a sausage. THIS. The one time I ever voluntarily disabled my adblocker for a site, my browser slowed to a crawl, and I immediately turned it back on. Websites have no right to whine about adblockers if they're going to keep using ads full of bloat and malware.😣
